Meet the Owners

Dr. Randall B. Davis

VETERINARIAN/OWNER

Dr. Randy Davis has had a lifelong interest and love of animals. He started his path to veterinary medicine working for a local veterinarian in Montgomery, Alabama at the age of 15. He worked his way through high school until he enrolled in the College of Agriculture at Auburn University. He was accepted into Veterinary school at Auburn in 1985 and graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Before arriving in Tuscumbia in 1995 he previously worked in practices in Jacksonville, Florida and Decatur, Alabama.

Dr. Davis partnered with Dr. Lynn Hagood to build the current TVAC facility in 1995. Dr. Davis enjoys the variety that is inherent in veterinary medicine. He also enjoys looking for ways to improve the quality and care that the staff of TVAC give to all their patients. He does the majority of the surgery for the practice, sees dogs, cats, an assortment of pocket pets, reptiles and snakes.

Dr. Davis met his wife Dr. Cathy Davis in veterinary school and they have 3 children. Trying to balance family and the practice of veterinary medicine is probably the biggest challenge to the Davis family. To add to his responsibilities Dr. Davis is a former District 1 Councilman for the City of Tuscumbia and is now Chair of the Tuscumbia Planning Commission. Dr. Davis feels that this is a small way to give back to the community that has been so supportive of him and his family and business.

Dr. Cathy Davis

Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Cathy Davis always knew that she wanted to pursue a career in medicine, but when she was in the 4th grade, she decided that Veterinary Medicine was the path for her. Kiska, one of the many dogs she grew up with, helped shape this decision for her. She enrolled in the University of Kentucky’s Martin- Gatton College of Agriculture in Animal & Food Sciences. During her undergraduate degree, she began working in a local veterinary clinic and gained hands-on experience through her major. She was accepted into Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and graduated in 1990.

Dr. Davis met her husband, and owner of TVAC, Dr. Randy Davis during her time at Auburn. She worked for some time in Huntsville before they both moved to the Shoals area. While Dr. Randy Davis opened TVAC with Dr. Hagood, Dr. Cathy Davis worked as a relief veterinarian in the area at many local practices seeing all species of animals. Dr. Davis started working at TVAC in 1997 and has a special interest in avian medicine. She treats many birds in the area ranging from parakeets to hyacinth macaws.

Drs. Davis have 3 children and currently have 3 grandchildren. Dr. C Davis has been involved in Scouting in the area since her eldest child, Will, was old enough to partake. She still gives back to the community by being a Pack Leader and District Chair for the Westmorland District.
